1. It’s easy to make use of
This was the most important factor for me. I needed a label maker I could can take out of the box and start using it immediately without the need to pour over directions. Label-making is supposed to be fast. It turned out there was a huge difference in the time that each label maker needed to print the label: one of them was 15 seconds long, which is a significant amount of time when waiting for a tiny label to print. 2. Material Design/Quality
I was in search of labels that aren’t too bulky or heavy yet feels nice and sturdy in your hand. The quality of each manufacturer’s tape was also crucial to me. Certain tapes appeared glossy and sleek while others appeared matte and dull. I also wanted to be sure that the labels were easy to use once printed, i.e. was it possible to easily remove the paper backing of the label tape or would I need an flashlight and an tweezers?
3. Many functions
Like I said I prefer a basic label maker. I don’t need fancy templates, and I’m not looking for “fun” fonts. However, I will often need to change font size or capitalization. I would prefer to do this without having to go through the 20 pages of a guide.
